ABOUT US

Lagos Games Group is a social organization that promotes recreation and values-building through board, card, role-play and interactive games. We have over 3500 group members on our online platforms with about 200 active members. We meet once a month, and each of our events average 20 – 30 people in attendance.

To promote the values-building aspect of game-play, its organizers incorporated The Gamesville Foundation to provide recreation and aid to humans that are onset by hardship, old age, loneliness or disability. The foundation seeks out and partners with reputable non-profit organizations that cater to these groups. The Gamesville Foundation is currently partnered with three (3) charitable organizations that work directly with disadvantaged and/or abused children.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES

Cultivate values through gameplay and discussions: We organize games and provide recreation for the children, exploring value subjects like self-esteem, teamwork, strategy, entrepreneurship, mathematics, patience, forgiveness, sportsmanship, healthy competition and purpose through the games and/or in discussion sessions. We launched an annual tournament and treated the final 8 to a recreational day outing, with the final 3 places winning a laptop, a tablet, and a bicycle, respectively.

Material and Financial support: We support the charities with occasional donations of food, personal, and utility items, and by organizing fundraisers. It is for the latter purpose that we are throwing our first annual Gamesville Gala. The intent of the Gala is to raise funds to cover critical needs like:

  • annual school fees,

  • dress children for school,

  • vocational training,

  • nutrition and living expenses for the children.
